H2Ireland TOUR OF THE PUBS OF IRELAND
When we were planning our trip we knew we wanted to accomplish a few things:
1. Stay off main roads and enjoy the back roads
2. Talk to as many locals as possible
3. Enjoy the journey without too much schedule or regiment
4. Climb the high point at Carrauntoohil
5. Find Hurley Castle
6. Drink in at least 5 pubs a day
I am happy to say we accomplished all of these, and so much more! The drinking in 5 pubs a day was important because it would assure that we wouldn't stay in one pub or one area too long. What started as a joke of taking a photo of Stick drinking his first pints in Dublin, became an important part of documenting our journey through the south of Ireland. So we put this small video together of Stick drinking at all the pubs we visited including:
The Palace Bar, Little Green, Guinness Storehouse, Farrington's, President's Bar, Shortalls, Tynan's Bridge House, The Dylan, River Court Hotel, Matt the Miller's, Moorings, Conestan's, Francis Abbey, Sin E, Indigo, Garnish House, McCarthy's, O'Days, Murphy's, O'Donoghue's, Tally's, Milltown, Crotty's, Stella Maris, Murphy's Black, Hickey's, Keaton's, Keough's, Kennedy's, King's Head, Kelly's, Western Hotel Bar, Seasan Ua Neaican, Richardson's, Padrig's, Tig Coili, Hole in the Wall, Paddy Fahy, Crowe's, Tullamore Dew, O'Donohughe's, Keough's, Stag's Head, Temple Bar Bar, Rome to Mexico, and finally all the way back to The Palace Bar - our first and last pint! We certainly helped stimulate the economy, stimulated our minds with all the great conversations, and kept ourselves moving along on an incredible experience.
